BIOGRAPHY
Born in Lyon in France in 1972, Lionel is living and working in Brescia, Italy. In 2006 he took up photography, specializing in ?re-creative? pictures. In 2007 he won his first competition and a few months later he held his first virtual competition (video performance).
?In Lionel?s photos there is an invitation to riconstruct, from an apparent oddness, the personal autonomy of thinking beings.
The exortation of freeing ourselves of conformism and preconception, from the responsibility of always being solely responsible, entangled in burden and expiration and in which rights are only additions of duties. His works instill the antidote against the conditioning of a monochromatic vision and of a forced existence. Here lies the invitation to climb horizontal floors, to mutate perspectives. Eccentricity is in - and with ? Abrial, a synonym of vitality, autonomy, originality and independence. Abrial has not lost his capacity to see. And his works shake up mental numbness, sometimes forced in the search for a sense found in playful provocation to the sense itself. Spurred on to a return to the future: of adults reconnected to the highly imaginative forma mentis of children. Irony, playing, vitality. Animated by an unstable mind (in the positive sense), Abrial destabilizes our need for order and the ordinary. He interacts with those places and objects which surround us, either reinvesting their functions or modifying their sense. Powered by child-like playfulness, his pictures say what his words might find difficult to explain. Observing Abril?s photos, maybe not everyone will work out the provocation and depth of the message (Abrial himself may not be completely conscious.....).
